In order to qualify to participate in the Suborbital Spaceflight Refresher Course, you must first have participated in the Suborbital Spaceflight Participant Course.
In addition to specific academic training for space, you will train and fly in the FAA-approved, STS-400 High Performance Human Centrifuge. The STS-400 with it’s very rapid acceleration and deceleration rates, has the ability to simulate any phase of space flight with accurate acceleration vectors, vibrations and WFOV visual displays.
The STS-400 can replicate different types of vehicle launches, specifically a horizontal launch to suborbital from a runway take off, or a drop launch from a mother ship. The STS-400 is the only multi-axis powered, human-rated centrifuge available for spaceflight training to the public.
